Logan International Airport Information

Known as ‘Boston Logan,’ the General Edward Lawrence Logan International Airport (BOS) is the largest airport in New England and the air gateway to the stately city of Boston, Massachusetts. The airport is a big and busy one which covers 2,384 acres and has nearly 30 million passengers passing through each year. Boston is certainly a popular destination- so here is a guide to getting in and out of Boston Logan with no stress!   The airport has four terminals- Terminals A, B, C and E. These are connected by shuttle buses and moving walkways, and they each house different airlines. Terminal A is home for Alaska Airlines, Delta Airlines (except international flights) and United. It is also the world’s first LEED certified airport terminal. Terminal B houses US Airways (except international flights), Air Canada, PenAir, Spirit Airlines and Virgin America. Terminal C has Cape Air, JetBlue (except international flights) and United Express. Terminal E is the international terminal, also called the Volpe International Terminal. Many airlines operate from here, including the international flights by Delta Airlines, US Airways and JetBlue. There are also a number of foreign airlines which fly out of Boston- Air France, Lufthansa, British Airways and more. Customs   All international arrivals to Boston Logan Airport must clear United States customs and border patrol. The aim of their checks is to protect the country from threats to community health, public safety and plant or animal life. Featuring on the list of prohibited or restricted items are absinthe and other alcohol, drug paraphernalia, biological specimens, antiquities, weapons, medication, plants and seeds and many more. Further information and a complete list can be found at www.cbp.gov. Upon arrival at the airport, passengers will be required to collect their bags post-security (airside) and proceed to the security checkpoints before entering the pre-security (landside) area of the terminal.   Passengers on domestic flights are not subject to customs checks, but their hand luggage is subject to security checks before boarding.
